PrivateLessons.com Exhibits at the 32nd Annual IAJE Jazz Education Conference
It was terrific visiting with Dr. Billy Taylor whose exhibit booth was swamped with visitors during the IAJE Conference. Bret Primack, the producer of Billy Taylor Jazz, was quite impressed with PrivateLessons.com that he made sure I meet Dr. Taylor. "Tell Billy what your service does for musicians," Bret called out during this photo opportunity. Always a gentleman and filled with curiosity Dr. Taylor took great interest in our story.

Dr. Willie Hill, Jr., past president of both IAJE and MENC, joined us at the PrivateLessons.com booth and this photo opportunity. Rob Mullins, PrivateLessons.com's "poster child" of member success, and one of Southern California's most prolific Jazz artists, was Dr. Hill's former student. Standing next to the two tall giants, I felt a bit like a little shrimp. Looking at this photo, Dr. Hill reassuringly sang a Major chord for me as he pointed at each one of us during that rendition. "That's what it means," he added with a smile. (Photo left to right: Ghenady Meirson, Dr. Willie Hill, Jr., and Rob Mullins)
Michael Hackett paid a visit to our booth at IAJE. Now based in Bloomington, Indiana, Michael has been a PrivateLessons.com member for the last 8 years. He shared with us the good news about the release of his album "Circles" on the Summit Records Label. On this album, Michael plays both the Trumpet and Flugelhorn. This is one outstanding CD. Conratulations, Michael! (Photo left to right: Michael Hackett and Ghenady Meirson)
Another visitor was Lee Galloway, a member of PrivateLessons.com in San Diego. We met Lee at the World Piano Pedagogy Conference (WPPC) in Las Vegas last October. Lady luck was on his side and helped him win 1-Year free PrivateLessons.com membership, a drawing held by WPPC management.

Rob Mullins proudly shows off his book Jazz Piano Voicings, an Essential Resource for Aspiring Jazz Musicians, published by Hal Leonard. Joe Anderies, Rob's friend and mentor from Colorado sat in with Rob's Freedom Jazz Band, a world-class Jazz group that performed same night at a club in Huntington Beach, California.
