How to Select the Right Guitar Teacher
<< prev |
next >>
By Warren Tiplady
Selecting the RIGHT teacher is about a CHECK LIST:
Does the teacher KNOW what he /she is doing? (Demonstrated practice & THEORY, experience(s). Can he /she communicate? Can he / she 'spell' perhaps a diminished or 9th chord and communicate these harmony concepts properly)?
Is the teacher dedicated to teaching? (Availability, access by telephone, E-mail, friendly, etc.).
Can the teacher 'draw' the BEST from you? (Motivate, nurture, constrictively criticize).
Can the teacher teach the other things that one needs to know? (Care / maintenance of the instrument. The legalities associated with the music industry. About 'getting along' with other musicians and thinking).
