Rochelle Martin
A native of the Pacific Northwest, soprano Rochelle Martin holds a MM in Vocal Performance from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music and a BM in Voice from the University of Washington.
While pursuing her Masters Degree, Rochelle studied voice with Elizabeth Hynes, acting with Kenneth Cazan and coached with David Wilkinson and Brent McMunn.
Rochelle has also studied acting for a year at the prestigious University of Washington School of Theatre.
Rochelle's full-length operatic roles include Idamante (Idomeneo), Diana (Orpheé aux Enfers), 1st Spirit (Die Zauberflöte), La Bergere and La Chauve-Souris (L'enfant et les Sortileges). She has played ensemble in Cendrillon and the musical She Loves Me. She has also performed in opera scenes as Alice Ford (Falstaff), Lady Penelope Rich (Gloriana), Gilda (Rigoletto), Countess Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni).
Rochelle has been teaching private voice lessons for over 7 years. While pursuing her MM degree, Rochelle was awared a Teaching Assistantship at the University of Southern California and taught private lessons to students of all abilities at the School of Music. She can tailor her voice lessons to any ability - from Beginner through Advanced.
Rochelle has 6 years of piano lessons, 7 years of University Level muscial training, 3 years of French, 1 1/2 years of Italian and 1 year of German.
