Dr. Renee Chevalier
Over 25 years’ teaching experience with all levels of piano from beginners through advanced, from 4-year-old to seniors in their 80’s. For more see my website under DrReneesPiano.
Extensive performance experience as soloist with orchestras, solo recitalist, member of chamber music groups and accompanist for string instruments and voice.
Trained as a classical pianist, I love to teach piano to anyone who loves music and has a desire to learn how to play or to improve the skills they already have. My philosophy for those in the beginning stages of learning is to shape the music you play to your personal abilities, not you to the complexities of the music. Frequently this means arranging a score so that it is easier. I feel that for most people, non-professionals, music should be a stress-free oasis in life even when you first start and this image is front center in my approach. If time is your greatest obstacle, practice though encouraged is not required for you to advance.
I also have experience teaching children with special needs. They love the lessons!
