Lana Chakoff
Lana Chakoff was born in Kiev, Ukraine and began her piano lessons when she was six years old. After only one year of study, she was accepted to Kiev Special Music School "Lysenko", where she studied with Prof. Sofia Dobrzhanskaya. She won Kiev citywide competition and was invited to perform in Kiev Philharmonic Concert Hall.
She continued her studies at Manhattan School of Music with Solomon Mikowski and Zenon Fishbein. Her piano trio was coached by Lilian Fuchs and piano duo by Joseph Sieger.
For the last twenty two years she has been teaching in Livingston, New Jersey area. She is a member of MTNA and Co-Chairperson for New Jersey Chapter of MTNA. Her students win regularly in local competitions and festivals. Lana holds yearly recitals in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
Lana was invited to perform C. Saint Saens "Carnival of the Animals" with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Marc Laycock for 6 performances in their Bravo series. She performed with the New Jersey Youth Symphony at NJPAC in Newark, New Jersey, and at Richardson Auditorium in Princeton, New Jersey. Lana served as an executive board member with the Youth Orchestras of Essex County and board member and program review committee member with the New Jersey Youth Symphony.com/b
