I am a Jazz vocalist with a fresh innovative approach. Through 16 years of teaching I have developed my own method to the art of teaching singing. I continue to be pleased by the dramatic results that I get, often within the first session. I approach the voice as the instrument that it is. That is to say, you learn to play your instrument (voice) as an instrumentalist learns to play theirs. This includes exploring the range, sound, textures & nuances of your voice along with developing strong technique and musicianship.
I combine traditional exercises with improvisational exercises as an alternate route to open your voice, creativity & explore possibilities in search of your personal sound. I have teachng studios in NYC and upstate New York, near New Paltz.com/
I have performed at the The Blue Note, Birdland, The Knitting Factory, the legendary Steinway Hall, and other major venues in New York City. I have performed with Kirk Nurock's "Natural Sounds Ensemble" at Carnegie Hall and with Jay Clayton's "Voice Group". Internationally I
have performed in Sweden, Finland, Italy and at the Brighton Festival in England.
