Gina Silverman
My studio provides a supportive environment in which students can truly develop a secure technique, whether for audition and stage performance or simply for personal fulfilment. I’ve designed a whole-body singing technique (based on the Italian Bel Canto method and informed by Alexander Technique, Pilates, dance, and theater) that unravels unwanted tensions and releases the singer’s full voice. Through work on physical alignment, breathing exercises, vocalises, and well-chosen repertoire, I guide my students to increased vocal range, flexibility, volume, brilliance, and beauty. I can also help hone language skills, sharpen interpretations, improve memorization facility, and cope with performance anxiety.c
I teach both as a faculty member at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont and from my private studio in San Francisco.
As a performer, soprano Gina Silverman's wide ranging musical passion and talent makes her at home on the concert stage, in the grand world of opera, in the intimate confines of art song, and in the frothy fun of musical comedy.
