Kevin Ure
THE INSTRUCTOR: Kevin Ure is an accomplished and University educated composer. He has served as a guest clinician at various schools, taught private lessons independently, and recently started the online composer’s studio so that he could reach qualified students. He currently serves as musical director of Lifelong Learning Academy in Tucson, AZ.
He has toured nationally and internationally, including a stay in Japan where he performed as a soloist. As a composer, conductor, and performer he has experienced many aspects of music production, creation, and performance.
As a composer he writes fluidly for all major orchestra instruments. He is comfortable writing in any medium and has works ranging from solo piano to full orchestra.
His education consists of a Bachelor of Music degree, and a Masters in Composition from The University of Arizona.
He has studied with many highly active and acclaimed composers, including Don Hannah, Virko Baley, Daniel Asia, Paul Chihara, Dr. Richard Adams, Curtis-Curtis Smith, Dr. Pamela Decker, and James Mobberly.
Kevin Ure has a diverse teaching style and is capable of teaching composers regardless of preference or style.
Kevin is a dedicated composer and instructor. Students find that by taking private lessons they learn a variety of techniques and skills which propel them into greater depths of understanding.
