Rose Johnson
Rose Johnson is currently living, teaching and performing in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. She has taught flute for 21 years. Rose received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Instrumental Music Performance from Northern Arizona University. She received her Master of Music degree from the University of Washington. As a freelance performer, she has performed a number of recitals and for a large variety of events. She has also performed with the Seattle Philharmonic, the Rainier Symphony, and the Sammamish Symphony. Rose is involved in teaching a variety of students, conducting a student flute choir and is a previous board member of the Seattle Flute Society, having acted as Secretary (1997-1999) and Masterclass / Competition Coordinator (2001-2005). Rose also coaches with the Seattle Youth Symphony's Marrowstone-in-the-City Summer Music program. Her most recent project was to create a recording with her sisters, Kelley Johnson and Barbara Lee. Rose's flute instructors have included Erich Graf, Janice Tipton, Philip Swanson, Felix Skowronek and Pamela Ryker. Rose will be performing with the National Flute Association's Professional Flute Choir at the 2008 Flute Convention in Kansas City, MO.
