Irina Vigil
Originally from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Irina received her Violin teacher/artist qualification- Diploma from Tashkent Khamza Musical College. Later, she studied at the Tashkent State Conservatory majoring in Violin Performance and Pedagogy. During her studies in Uzbekistan, Irina performed solo recitals in Uzbekistan and participated in statewide competitions.
Also, she performed numerous concerts as a member of "Young Talents of Uzbekistan" chamber orchestra, a youth chamber orchestra that received several Awards in Chamber Music Competitions and Festivals in Germany, Poland and Uzbekistan.
After moving to Utah, Irina received her Bachelor’s Degree from the U of U in Violin Performance. There she studied with Mikhail Boguslavskiy (violin, chamber music) and was the recipient of Dorothy Rich presidential, Honors String Quartet, and New Music Ensemble scholarships. While in college, Irina performed many solo and chamber music recitals. She was the leading member of the Honors String Quartet and the Utah Philharmonia Orchestra. A few highlights of the College years were the opportunity to study with Mikhail Boguslavskiy, play recitals with many talented musicians such as the pianist/composer Karen Hakobyan, to participate in the opera productions at the U of U School of Music.
Irina has been teaching for over 10 years. Performance oriented lessons are open for students 6 and up. Students take weekly lessons and have an opportunity to perform in 2 - 3 studio student recitals and 1- 2 master classes a year. Irina is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). And a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC).
