Josh Maxey has been teaching professionally for 6 years. He has taught adults and children of all ability levels in one on one private lesson format as well as in a class room setting at Hunter College Elementary School. Josh began teaching while attending The New School University Jazz and Contemporary Music Program where he earned a BFA in Jazz Guitar Performance in 2002. Josh was also given a full scholarship to attend the Jazz Aspen Snowmass summer program in 2002. He has worked on recordings and concerts with Carly Simon, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Rob Thomas, Rodney Jones, Highnote Records and Blue Note Records. As his educational and work experience indicate, he is a gifted musician, composer and bandleader. More importantly, if you are looking for guitar lessons, he is a great teacher.
