Lisa Creason
In a nut shell
I began playing the violin at age eight. Since that time, I have performed all over the United States and Canada (Las Vegas was the best!) for well-reknowned guests such as the Pope, Paul John II, the original Ronald McDonald, Dan Quayle, CEOs of various companies throughout the Midwest and many, many more. After receiving a full regents scholarship, I completed my bachelor degree in Music Performance at Arizona State University. I then went onto become a member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra, performing with (and for) great musicians, such as: Pierre Boulez, Sir George Solti, Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Reuben Gonzalez, Albert Ignolikov and Rachel Barton. I have been concertmaster for various ensembles and am well versed in leading groups. I also performed in various capacities (solo section, section performer, concertmaster) for many ballet, musical theaters and other ensembles in Arizona, Illinois and Wisconsin. I developed a love for strolling while in the Tremper Golden Strings, which lead me to create a strolling environment for me in my string quintet, the Black Tie Affair String Ensemble in 1995. I also perform with a variety of rock, jazz, celtic and country bands (gotta play my banjo sometime!). I began teaching privately in 1991. I have clinicianed, judged and also developed and directed the Jack Benny Signature Strings for two years. Creating another ensemble here is one goal I have for this year.
"I teach because I can and because I want everyone to enjoy music as much as I do."
Recent local performances include:
Performed with Clay Aiken, Anne Murray and a really great "Led Zeppelin" tribute band.
Performed under the great direction of Gerald Hoffman for the St. Joesph's musical: How to Succeed in Business without even trying.
Not including various corporate and private functions and invitations to perform with some awesome artists. Stay tuned for more.
