Teaching Philosophy: I love to play the flute! It is my desire as a teacher to instill that love in my students. My approach is positive, encouraging, and individually tailored to each student. Our lessons will place an emphasis on beautiful tone, proper technique, quality repertoire – and fun! I enjoy working with students of all ages and levels - my students have ranged in age from 6 to 92! Although I love to start the young beginners on their musical journey, I also enjoy working with the more advanced high school and college students, adults as beginners, or those adults wishing to take up where they left off years ago.
I am primarily a “classical” musician, and my teaching reflects that. My experience with performance and competitions gives me added insight on how to prepare young flutists for recitals, competitions and auditions.

My studio presents quarterly student recitals, and provides the opportunity to form small chamber ensembles with other students. I also direct a larger flute ensemble, the Enchanted Flute Choir, which is open to all flutists in the community. A fun way to meet and play with other flute enthusiasts! I currently maintain active studios in Oak Harbor, Burlington and Mount Vernon.c
