Allison Carvalho
Ms. Carvalho received her Bachelor's degree in guitar performance and music education from the University Federal da Bahia in Salvador, Brazil. Ms. Carvalho has a special passion for teaching but she also excels performing solo and chamber music. She has performed in several musical events in her native Brazil and currently she is recording a solo album and playing intimate concerts in NY. Leaving in NYC since 2001, Ms. Carvalho has acumulated over 14 years of experience teaching the guitar to children, teenagers and adults in private and group formats. Ms. Carvalho has guided novices from the basics of the guitar up through some of its most difficult repertoire from classical to american/brazilian/latin popular styles. She also teachs musical concepts such as singing while playing, ensemble playing, music reading and basic composition by utilizing materials created by herself and the students.
